Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Director of Housing Operations is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive university housing operation. The incumbent will provide leadership for developing responsible, effective and ethical business practices. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations for the central housing office.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Student Personnel, Business Finance, or related field required.
Experience: Three years experience in developing, administering, and evaluating operations.

The ability to supervise, motivate, and direct staff while providing organizational leadership.
Job Duties
- 45% - Oversees the planning, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of housing operations
- Provides leadership, direction, and management for housing operations, which includes assignments and enrollment; move-in and move-out processes; facilities management, including building maintenance, furnishings, warehouse and inventory; new and existing service contracts; vendor relations; off-campus housing; summer housing operations, including student housing and conference housing; access controls in residence halls; and all technology for the department, including a housing management applications, and all website content and maintenance.
- Provides leadership for ongoing evaluation of services and programs within housing operations
- Coordinates residence hall space needs, maintenance, and renovation projects for residence halls

- Provides leadership for staff in technology, budgeting, and housing operations
- Establishes and evaluates all departmental policies and procedures
- Selects, trains, and provides regular goal-setting and performance evaluations for housing and budget operations staff - (Essential)
- 15% - Develops and manages housing budgets
- Develops policies and procedures for all housing budget processes
- Manages Auxiliary Budget of 20 million dollars
- Develops strategic plan for residence halls and facilities including a 5 year master plan of building renovations and best practices for building new residence halls
- Forecasts annual residence hall revenue and room rates, as well as evaluating and assessing departmental expenditures and processing for the department - (Essential)
- 20% - Assesses and provides strategic planning for housing operations and budgeting
- Maintains and analyzes budgeting records
- Ensures best practices are being utilized for both housing operations and budgeting
- Determines short- and long-term strategic planning for housing operations and budgeting - (Essential)
