About the Role
Teaching preschool music at Stratford School is a unique experience, and allows the teacher the opportunity to lay a musical foundation for young students to become lifelong appreciators of all types of music. Music teachers are able to collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and integrate the core knowledge curriculum within the music program, such as music history.
You will also…
- Teach basic elements of music, including note reading and rhythm
- Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff members
- Assist teachers with the use of rhythm instruments
- Introduce young students to piano specifically
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred, high school diploma required
- Piano proficiency and sight reading expertise required
- Prior teaching experience with young students is preferred
