Summary:

The role of a network support technician is to provide technical support for a variety of information technology assets & systemsincluding; pc’s, printers, servers, applications, cell phones, data security, & network infrastructure services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Exceed customer expectations. (For both internal & external customers)
  • Responsible to correspond directly with Welch users & or customers servicing any technology specific problem or request via established Help Desk practices.
  • Complete documentation of technical issues & resolutions.
  • Maintain Network Hardware & technology assets for local & remote facilities including; Windows 2003 & 2008 servers, Windows XP clients, printers, wireless hardware, & data / voice wiring.
  • Maintain Network Infrastructure Services including; tcp/ip services, wireless, copy/fax solution, disk imaging, phone services, printing services.
  • Maintain / support Security Services including; patch management, anti-virus solution, backup solution, email security system.
  • Maintain / support overall Citrix solution including; Web Interface, XenApp servers, XenServer virtualization, server maintenance.
  • Process desired change notices by completing necessary documentation following procedures for new users, terminated users, departmental & organizational changes.
  • Provide on-call support as needed (including after hours)
  • Travel to remote sites on a rotational basis to provide excellent support solutions to business needs (including after hours or as needed)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • College Degree in IT Technology or related field preferred.
  • 3 + years of IT experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • IT certifications in Microsoft, Citrix, & or Cisco preferred. (ie- MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, MCIPT, CCEA, CCNA)
  • Windows experience required with Proficiency in MS Office applications preferred.
