Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Electronic Design Automation Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our engineering team with electronic design automation tasks, as well as providing IT support to ensure the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tasks:
- Assist engineers in the use of EDA software tools for schematic capture, simulation, and layout design under Linux environment.
- Support the development and optimization of electronic designs using EDA tools like Cadence Orcad, allegro, Virtuoso, Ansys Tools, Synopsys simulation and synthesis tools.
- Help troubleshoot and debug design issues, providing timely solutions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve EDA workflows and efficiency. Familiar with Linux scripting and automation.
- Manage and maintain License servers from EDA Vendors.
Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain documentation for EDA workflows, IT procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct training sessions to educate employees on best practices for using EDA tools and IT systems effectively.
Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic design automation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Design Compiler, or similar.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in EDA, such as Verilog, VHDL, or Tcl.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and office productivity software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
