Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Oklahoma City, OK Tuesday-Saturday 8am-6pm

 

Main Duties: There is a potential that hours and testing location may vary. Responsible for performing routine and non-routine activities pertaining to laboratory testing and the reporting of results.  Performs moderately difficult to complex tasks.  Performs assigned analytical testing procedures in an accurate, precise, and timely manner.   Assist with processing as needed to facilitate good patient care. Follow employer policies, work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner, and perform instrument maintenance as scheduled and troubleshooting as needed.

 


Required Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge, including good computer skills and be able to adapt to multiple computer systems.  Must have knowledge of QA and QC as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.

Required Experience: AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Laboratory Science.  ASCP MLS/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MLS/MLT certification.

 


Special Requirement: Ability to maintain a professional, courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.  Reflect the company’s values in all aspects of performance.  Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.  Keyboard skills are important.  Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required.  Be willing to work overtime or other shifts if require, and may require weekend and holiday rotations as well as “on call”.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. 
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. 
  • Frequent walking and/or standing. 
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
