Job Summary
The Director, CUSO Third Party Risk leads a team providing third party risk oversight and challenge, focusing on our Combined US Operations (CUSO) and the associated legal entities, segments, and functions operating within the CUSO. In addition, the Director is responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving key third party risk related controls in partnership with colleagues within the Enterprise Third Party Risk team and other areas. The director will work in close partnership with the other members of the TPRM leadership team and the CUSO Operational Risk team to provide full 2LOD TPRM coverage across CUSO. The Director's team ensures effective CUSO alignment to the RBC's Supplier Code of Conduct and RBC's Enterprise Third Party Risk Management framework, related policies, standards and procedures. This role is integral to ensuring strong TPRM practices are in place for CUSO and aligned with OSFI's B-10 Guideline and all US regulatory requirements related to third party risk management.

What is the opportunity?
As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Director , Head of CUSO Third-Party Risk leads a team that provides third-party risk oversight and challenge focusing on our Combined US Operations (CUSO). In addition, the Director is responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving a number of key third-party risk related controls.
What will you do?
Deliver on the TPRM vision and execute TPR oversight and challenge through a team of professionals
Foster strong stakeholder relationships to enable active and collaborative working relationships
Provide third-party risk oversight and challenge over RBC's Combined US Operations (CUSO)
Leverage data-driven insight and provide oversight and challenge on key risk indicators
Lead scenario-driven and thematic reviews to assess effectiveness of controls across the end-to-end third-party lifecycle
Review third-party risk related outputs (e.g. pre-contract challenge of engagement risk assessments), risk issues, acceptances and action plans to ensure 1LOD is operating within stated Risk Appetite
Conduct third-party risk event reviews related to areas of support Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of TPR controls and practices
Lead the continued evolution of RBC's Non-Supplier Third-Party risk management standard and practices and integration into existing monitoring, reporting, etc
Support implementation of key ORM initiatives (e.g.: Internal Control Management Policy; Operational Resiliency; NextGen)
Identify trends and new information, and direct research into areas of new third-party risk practices and/or perceived elevated or emerging operational risk
Ensure team acumen in organizational, regulatory, strategic, financial and operational changes and broader external factors/trends impacting TPRM practices
Participate in various TPRM focused forums, working groups, committees, and industry events
Provide impactful Operational Risk advice
Provide TPRM risk mitigation strategies; advise senior management and executives in understanding and managing TPR across multiple domains
Lead and contribute to thematic reviews, tabletops, and scenarios aimed at identifying third-party risk top and emerging risks, control gaps/ enhancements, etc
Champion behaviours that embed a strong risk management culture across 1st & 2nd LOD, including strong awareness of TPRM practices
Provide advice and counsel to business partners on adoption of TPRM requirements to implement RBC's enterprise strategy
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
10+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in the financial services industry with direct exposure to third party risk management, third party lifecycle, operational risk management, enterprise-wide mandates
Established acumen to Governance-Risk-Compliance (GRC) through 1LOD or 2LOD roles
Advanced quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong understanding of third party risk governance framework and practices, and
Knowledgeable in third party risk focused regulations in the financial services industry
Direct and indirect team leadership experience preferred

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
