We are dedicated to excellence every day…\n\n JOB SUMMARY\n\n Works under the direction of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and performs all duties required to support and coordinate departmental functions. Participates in the department’s goal of meeting the CCH mission, vision and values. Respiratory Therapists practice according to the rules and regulations of licensure by the Wyoming State Board of Respiratory Care and the American Association of Respiratory Care.\n\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\n\n\tAssists with the initiation, maintenance, billing, and completion of the admission and discharge process.\n\tEncourages cost savings for the department and organization.\n\tExhibits excellent customer service.\n\tResponsible for EMR documentation. \n\tMaintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care information.\n\tCommunicates effectively with internal and external customers.\n\tMonitors equipment and integrity.\n\tMaintains professional standards, completes required continuing education/certificates.\n\tResponds to after hour call back.\n\tPerforms decontamination of equipment assembly and calibration.\n\tAssists with patient and family education.\n\tPerforms a full range of diagnostic and treatment/medication modalities within the scope of practice.\n\tRTs who provide coverage for the Sleep Center must maintain 10 sleep related CEUs per calendar year.\n\tMust be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.\n\tComplies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.\n\tOther duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.\n\n\n JOB QUALIFICATIONS\n\n\n\tEducation\n\n\t\n\t\tHigh school graduate, a graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory School; credentialed by NBRC or Co ARC\n\t\n\t\n\tLicensure\n\t\n\t\tRequired Wyoming Respiratory Care Practitioner License\n\t\n\t\n\tExperience\n\t\n\t\tNone.\n\t\n\t\n\tCertifications required\n\t\n\t\tSee Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.\n\t\n\t\n\n\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n\n\tThe ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR) to maintain Respiratory Care Practitioner license.\n\tLicensed professionals must strictly adhere to the ethical code of their respective discipline.\n\tExcellent interpersonal skills needed in dealing with nursing staff, physicians, patients, families, and other members of the health care team.\n\tAble to think quickly, handle various projects simultaneously with attention to accuracy, prioritization, patient request, detail, memory, problem solving, reasoning, ability to memorize routine assignments, computer mnemonics, all with little or no supervision.\n\tAbility to analyze and manipulate numbers, percentages, and indexes from equipment for procedures.\n\tAbility to explain procedures to patients and speak clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff regarding patient’s condition, etc.\n\tAbility to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions including emergency situations during high-risk procedures.\n\tAnalytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory. \n\tAbility to develop positive interactions and solve complex problems in a professional manner under stress with patients, patients’ families, physicians, and staff in order to effectively care for the patients.\n\tComputer Knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic record. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position.\n\tThe ability to demonstrate knowledge of developmental stages and apply developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the appropriate age of the patient. Ability to maintain the appropriate level of knowledge and skills.\n\tMust demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in the following age groups:\n\t\n\t\tInfant (Neonate to Age 1)\n\t\tPediatric (Age 1-11)\n\t\tAdolescent (12-18)\n\t\tAdult (19-64)\n\t\tGeriatric (Age 65 and older)\n\t\n\t\n\n\n\n PI31b20c0faa35-31181-32132390
