Summary


The Communications Director is responsible for implementing the Communications strategies of the organization. Theses duties include developing and unifying the content and messaging to portray organization priorities and values. This person will work cross-functionally with other teams in streamlining and creating clear and concise communications.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain brand identity, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
  • Establish and drive the communications strategy.
  • Prepare and manage all communications material.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications and promotional plans to include campaign development, graphic design, video production, online strategies, etc.
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members and community leaders.
  • Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content.
  • Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
  • Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities
  • Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral.
  • Collaborate with the other departments in the organization to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions.
  • Participate in webpage maintenance and design


Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in communications and marketing
  • Strong copywriting and copy editing abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
  • Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and digital graphics production
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Track record of leading change with confidence
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
