Our client is a global leader in the development and manufacture of specialty pharmaceutical drug products, including oral and mucosal thin films and transdermal patches
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Scientist to lead the technical research and analysis in the pharmaceutical sector. This role involves creating business plans, conducting due diligence, and collaborating across departments to drive our R&D and commercialization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct research on therapeutic markets and create business plans to guide R&D.
- Competitive Assessment: Evaluate competitors' technologies and advise on competitive positioning.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to support commercialization.
- Business Planning: Participate in business planning and develop technical and IP strategies.
- Technology Discovery: Establish procedures pertaining to discovery of new technologies, based upon market feedback and unmet drug delivery needs
- Technical Transfer: Lead the transfer of technology from lab to production scale.
- IP Strategy: Formulate and implement intellectual property strategies.
- Budget Management: Forecast and manage operating and capital expenses.
- Industry Engagement: Network, monitor literature, participate in industry groups, and attend conferences.
- Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
Requirements:
- PhD in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biology, biotechnology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience and knowledge with FDA-regulated business and DEA regulations for controlled substances.
- 5+ years in technical sales in the pharmaceutical/drug-delivery sector.
- Must have hands on lab experience
- Small molecule experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 35%, including internationally.
