The optics technician will participate in the areas of handling, characterizing, cleaning, assembling, aligning and supporting optical and opto-mechanical works inside our space lasers. The Optics technician will work closely with the members of the Optics group to support all the functionality of the Terminals and instruments as a key element.
Duties:
- execution of optical assemblies and integration
- execution of functional system level tests
- and quality control of received components
- in optical systems characterization and alignment
- in lab equipment maintenance and calibration
- and support opto-mechanical tasks, as test setup assembly, metrology measurements, cleaning of optics, mechanism checks.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
- of optical surface cleaning
- command of English and/or Spanish
- to manipulate cleaning agents and chemical products
- to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment
- writing technical reports and following procedures in English
- spirit
Preferred Experience/Skills/Ability:
- of optical measurement devices (power meters, beam profiler, polarimeter)
- of laser source operation and safety
- optical lab or mechanical shop metrology experience
Required Education:
A technical degree in Physics and photonics/Engineering field (preferably in Optics and/or mechanics) or relevant experience
