This pivotal leadership position is responsible for providing 24/7 management of the PACU, ensuring exceptional care delivery that aligns with the strategic goals of the Department of Nursing and the overarching mission of the organization. Focus:
- Manage daily operations within the PACU, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.
- Enforce and sustain exemplary patient care standards in accordance with departmental strategies and the organization's overarching mission.
- Handle financial and budgetary responsibilities for PACU operations.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the nursing staff, promoting professional growth and excellence.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other hospital managers to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Ensure the PACU meets all regulatory and accreditation standards, including those established by CMS.
- Serve as a representative of the organization, building positive relationships with families, visitors, and external partners.
Skill Set:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or related field (candidates currently enrolled in such programs will also be considered).
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of recent clinical experience in an Operating Room setting.
- Experience in a nursing leadership role preferred (1-2 years)
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop nursing staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of resolving problems and managing complex relationships.
- Proficient in regulatory norms and dedicated to upholding elevated clinical benchmarks.
