SECEP is looking for a full-time Physical Education Teacher for the Re-ED Program for the 2023-2024 SY. This position provides direct instruction, developing and monitoring individualized adaptive physical education programs and monitoring student's daily arrival and departure on the school buses.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor?s Degree in Physical Education (Required)
* Virginia State Licensure with Heath and Physical Education K-12 Endorsement
Teaching experience is desired

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assume lead responsibility for providing direct physical education instruction;

* Assume lead responsibility for developing an individualized adaptive physical education program for each student including: assessing gross motor ability, determining present levels of performance, developing (with parental input) the physical education/motor development objectives for the student's IEP, attending IEP conferences when requested, and updating objectives for quarterly IEP reviews;

* Assume lead responsibility for development of specific instructional units including planning daily lesson plans;

* Assume lead responsibility for monitoring students' arrival and departure on buses including management of crisis situations that may arise during this time;

* Extend/modify and establish the SECEP Day Re-ED Program behavior management system within physical education classes;

* Serve as a staff resource for adaptive physical education instruction and provide in-service training when requested;

* Participate in community integration trips and overnight camping trips during the school year. As requested, monitor, maintain and keep inventory of the camping supplies/equipment.
