Substitute teacher applicants need to come to the District/Allendale Office to apply. Substitute teacher applicants need to bring the following items: an Illinois Educator license (You can apply for a SubTeacher License on the Illinois State Board of Education website, http://isbe.net), register in Rock Island County, a copy of original college transcripts, a physical (not more then 90 days old), fingerprints completed within the last 90 days (to be completed at the Regional Office of Education), and required identification (example: a drivers license and social security card, or a passport). Your social security card will be needed for your payroll file. Office Hours: 7:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. Summer hours or when students are not in session: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Fingerprints are completed at the Regional Office of Education(309-736-1111), there is a fee for this; $63 cash or $66 by credit card (Visa or Master Card). Once all the paperwork is completed, the applicant's name is placed on the Board agenda for approval at the next Board of Education meeting. There is a Mandated Training Session for all Substitute Teachers. (to be completed at the District Office.It is an 8 hour course.)
