Description
Yamazen Inc. is an importer and distributor of quality CNC manufacturing machinery, including machine tools and injection molding machines. Our automation division is growing rapidly, and we are looking for automation professionals to join our team.
Opportunity:
Yamazen has an immediate opening for a Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for robot programming, plc programming, and facilitating customer run-offs. The candidate will need to work at our new Yamazen, Inc., North America Headquarters, located in Elk Grove Village, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Program both safety and non-safety PLC's and Operator HMI's according to Matrix standard customer specifications.
- Provide the technical expertise required for computer and PLC setup, programming, and assistance, including the planning/writing and testing/debugging of programming code as necessary.
- Configure and program network remote I/O devices using Ethernet IP, PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
- Work collaboratively with Electrical Engineers and Applications Engineers to complete systems that meet customer expectations and deadlines.
- Perform startup, testing and debugging of hardware, including all field devices.
- Travel to customer facilities to complete installations, make modifications and support run-off's when necessary.
- Provide input to engineering, manufacturing, and Yamazen Automation Division Team as appropriate to inform them of findings that are significant to improving existing products and/or new products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer Engineering is preferred; Associates degree or Certificate from a two-year college or technical school in PLC programming acceptable.
- Minimum 3-5 years controls programming experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC's and HMI's
- Must be able to read and understand electrical prints
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft office suite (WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK)
- Some robot programming experience is preferred, but not required
