Job Description
Administers immunizations to infants, children and adults at the local health department. Performs essential functions and adheres to the scope of practice/license. Networks with area school and community providers to provide mass immunizations clinics off site during requested times. Reviewing, recording and evaluating immunization records, educating the general public regarding vaccines, maintains medical supplies and electronic immunizations records given. 100% of this individual's effort and time will be dedicated to the health department. Performs related duties as assigned or required by the Department of State Health Services and Collin County Health Care Services; may be activated to perform other duties as needed in a disaster or emergency situation. Must be willing to travel within Collin County to perform school and day care audits. Must be willing to travel within Collin County to complete physician/vaccine audits when requested.
Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Texas. Must be in good standing with Texas Board of Nursing. Must maintain 20 hours of continued education to keep nursing license current. Must have an acceptable driving record. Current CPR preferred. Work requires the ability to exercise independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents, must be able to stand for long periods of time. Strong computer skills needed.
