Summary of the position:

Perform AW609 civil Type Certification and Airworthiness tasks as defined in FAA Order 8110.4. Guide Engineering, Component Test and Qualification, Quality Assurance, Flight Test, and Program Management departments in planning and executing a Type Certification Project for a fly-by-wire aircraft being certified to Transport Category Standards. Lead resolution of issues relate to aircraft certification. Coordinate FAA Designees working the Project in order to promote completion of certification actions and achieve FAA compliance findings as required to obtain the Type Certificate. Execute procedures for producing FAA approval to data and establishing data retention per FAA requirements. Conduct interaction with EASA to facilitate the EASA Validation concurrent to the FAA Certification. This Position requires strong interpersonal skills and project engineering skills in order to effectively interface with all levels of program personnel conducting meetings, discussions, presentations facilitating decisions supporting program milestones and schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Certification Plans and facilitate execution of those Plans with technical team
  • Coordinate Type Certification project activities in accordance with defined methods of compliance
  • Facilitate resolution of Action Items, Issue Papers, Special Conditions, and certification procedures compliance challenges
  • Coordinate execution of Certification tasks associated to testing [component test, system test, integrated systems test, aircraft test] being performed to demonstrate compliance to Type Certification requirements-
  • Perform all typical Type Certificate Applicant interaction to FAA, EASA, and other civil regulatory Authorities including meetings with FAA project managers

Education:

  • BS in Engineering discipline required.

Experience

  • 0-3 years experience working on aircraft certification projects in a technical or project engineering capacity preferred.
  • Aircraft Software Certification and Advance Electronic Hardware Certification (RTCA DO- 254) preferred.
  • Aircraft Certification Systems Safety Assessment(SAE ARP 4754) preferred.
