Job Purpose:

  • Job holder will oversee all PICG functions, including recruitment, rewards, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and compliance in country and coordinate with head office to meet the needs of NY business.
  • Primary Coordinator for Regulatory Examination related to Training and PICG.
  • Ensure compliance with all Alphabet and NYSDFS regulations related to PICG functions that include Labor laws/regulations.


Key Result Areas:

Business Partnering & Employee Engagement:

  • Support Country Head NY & Senior People Advisory & Business Partnership in developing and implementing PICG strategies that support Bank’s business objectives and values through appropriate advice / interventions.
  • Establish positive meaningful relationships with employees, serve as an advisor to people and partner to business.
  • Manage the smooth onboarding/ offboarding of staff , conduct exit interviews and share feedback internally.
  • Work with ICOD Team and Country EE Champion to actively drive employee engagement and Wellbeing activities in the country.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 skip level meetings with business stakeholders and share feedback.
  • In coordination with the employee Relations Department, ensure all staff grievances are addressed and resolved in a timely manner; initiate appropriate disciplinary process in line with the Bank's policies.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Work with respective unit heads on alignment of org structures.
  • Help drive team culture in creating a ‘preferred’ workplace for employees and foster an environment where employee behavior is aligned to our values.
  • Conduct regular meetings with middle management level in the country to update them on PICG transformation journey and new/in the pipeline initiatives/projects.
  • Support the PICG team in developing solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manage the payroll. Ensure that all deductions (taxes, garnishments, etc.) are as per regulations.
  • Administer the 401K Savings Plan and respond to staff inquiries.

MIS, Policy management and Governance:

  • Manage all people related MIS / data requisition in the country.
  • Own the following policies and procedures: MBNY Employee Handbook, Vacation Policy, Pandemic Policy, Training Policy, Anti-Harassment & Anti Sexual Harassment Policy, Whistleblower Policy, Record Retention, Federal Elections Campaign Policy, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Policy, Bank Bribery Act Policy, MBNY Code of Conduct & Ethics .
  • Maintain a comprehensive employee database and manage ongoing reports/analysis for the country.
  • Work with the PICG functions on policy/benefits review and updates. Guide managers and employees on people practices, labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Support line managers in the job evaluation process (documentation and coordination).
  • Manage PICG Operations for the country, which includes monthly payroll, employee file management, employee insurance management, administer benefits like personal loans, etc.
  • Ensure statutory compliance of employment laws applicable in NY and ensure documents are kept audit ready at all times.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits for the team. Ensure timely submission of RCSA inputs.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Develop contract terms for new hires, upgrades and transfers.
  • Actively participate and contribute to any organization wide People initiative.


Rewards and Recognition:

  • Manage the recognition budgets in coordination with the respective Group coordinators.
  • Manage the iValue program in close coordination with the Sr. PABP.


Learning & Development:

  • Design the L&D needs plan for the country. Work with IC&OD team to drive L&D programs.
  • Maintain training database and liaise with external agencies/ training centers for attendance of training courses / seminars for branch staff.
  • Ensure Web-based mandatory compliance training is done on target date.


Performance Management:

  • Assist the Sr. PABP in effectively managing the PM process for the country. This includes performance reviews, rating distribution, calibrations, increments, bonus, job upgrades, grievance handling etc.).
  • Ensure timely completion of mandatory training programs


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum bachelor degree qualification in any field is required.
  • 10 years’ experience in Human Resources at both operational and strategic level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, influencing, high level of analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of banking business/financial services industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Highly customer focused, as it demands in a service industry.
  • Leadership skills, experience in working with matrixed organization.
  • Sound knowledge of all areas of HR with experience of international practices is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of local employment laws and regulations on employment matters.


Budgeted Salary: $13,000-$15,000 per month
