Job Summary

Do you have lots of energy and love working with preschoolers? The Olathe Community Center is looking for a Preschool Recreation Leader I. The Recreation Leader I assists in lesson planning, teaching, supervising preschoolers, observing children's development, and implementing appropriate learning activities to set them up for success in kindergarten.

Starting Salary: $15.00-$18.00 depending on experience.

Recreation Leader assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising recreation programs for Pre-School such as social-recreation activities, arts and crafts, and curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete essential tasks regarding program operations.

  • Effectively communicate with participants, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service.

  • Follow all City policies and procedures.

  • Participate with group and provide support for constituents while participating in program.

  • Follow basic supervision responsibilities: Prepare, set-up, and clean-up activities, attend all required training and other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education Guidelines: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:

Experience: Prefer a minimum of 1 year working in recreation industry and/or working with children. Must be 16 years or older.
