Seeking an experienced, self-directed, Release Train Engineer, (RTE) to support a new Army contract in Newport News, VA. As a member of our team, you will help to assist the Army in a full range of program/product management and administration, financial, technical, and business transformation. This position is located in Newport News, VA/Fort Eustis.

The Release Train Engineer, (RTE) will be supporting the Agile Release Trains (ART) in delivering value and support the reduction of risks to our customer's environments. The RTE will play a crucial role in facilitating and optimizing the Program Increment (PI) Planning process and supporting the Agile Release Train (ART) throughout its execution. The RTE will serve as an experienced ART coach with scaled agile framework (SAFe). The RTE will manage issues, risks, and schedules and identify and initiate continuous improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train and Solution Train using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Planning Intervals (PIs).
  • Facilitate PI Planning, PI retrospectives, System / Solution Demos, ART sync or Solution Train Sync within a multi-contractor federal portfolio.
  • Coach Executive leadership, Product Owners and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets, clarifying roles and responsibilities and offering motivation and support, as necessary.
  • Escalate and track impediments.
  • Facilitate collaboration, negotiation, and mediation according to SAFe Agile principles.
  • Establish a constructive working relationship with the Product Owners/managers, Development team, Stakeholders and Sponsors.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ten (10+) years of relevant experience required
  • Proven ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships, external stakeholder networks, and teaming partnerships
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors degree required
