Structural Designer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Reports to: Structural Department Manager
Compensation: $100K - $130K
Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days a week from home
Remember the groundbreaking, late 80s / early 90s sitcom DESIGNING WOMEN? Well, just imagine if the ladies had been STRUCTURAL DESIGNERS rather than INTERIOR DESIGNERS! Sophisticated Julia would be forever going on about how elegant her industrial designs were. Self-centered little sister, Suzanne would comeback with something about how she was more concerned with designer clothes than foundation and building design. All the while, in spite of her repugnant wardrobe, Mary Jo would be trash talking everyone’s REVIT, STAAD, and AutoCAD work. Charlene would be pretty much the same, delivering ignorant, accidentally funny one-liners with the southern charm that only she can. Oh, that reminds me... we're hiring a STRUCTURAL DESIGNER now!
Requirements & Responsibilities of the Structural Designer:
- 5+ years of structural design experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Exceptional Revit, 3D AutoCAD, and STAAD experience.
- Ability to conceptualize and draw solutions for engineers to review.
- Exposure to steel, concrete, and masonry, highly valuable.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Design structures to endure stresses and pressures.
- Oversee drawing production, material selection, and construction work to ensure structural
- soundness of foundations and structures.
- Collaborate with clients and internal and external engineering teams.
- Comply with industry standards.
