Essential Job Duties:

Litigation Assistance works closely with assigned Paralegal and Attorney at all times.

Litigation Assistance responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;


  • Call the client immediately and introduce the new Litigation team that will be taking over the case.
  • Review file and make updated changes as necessary in file and in Client Profiles.
  • Return all voicemails within 24 hours of the call.
  • Review and organize all mail.
  • Calendar pertinent deadlines. (i.e. answers, initial disclosure statements, discovery responses, depositions, IMEs, scheduling order, telephone conferences).
  • Set up either phone or face-to-face meeting with Litigation Paralegal and client.
  • Maintain and update the Medical Table Deadline Excel spreadsheet.
  • Send out medical records and medical billing requests and continuous follow up for responses.
  • Schedule, confirm, and track client’s deposition, mediation, and/or arbitration.
  • Contact client and meet client to sign releases, and distribution of settlement checks.


Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Previous legal background or medical/insurance familiarity a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
