iSeries Manager of Application Development
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the IT Development staff and contractors – currently consists of 4 resources
- Design, development and delivery of quality business applications
- Leading the approach and design of partner integrations
- Using technical and functional expertise to be a lead architect in designing solutions
- Lead design and review sessions with development team, business partners and management
- Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project management methodologies
- Maintain controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure user/management involvement at appropriate milestones
- Manage application design through the various life-cycle stages from business need through design and delivery
- Manage project priorities, scope, budgets, timelines and expectations
- Review, assess, and recommend vendor solutions and proposals for software and hardware
- Develop business cases for requested investment
- Lead the development of project documentation and training materials where applicable
- Provide technical support and assistance as necessary
- Establish and enforce best practices and implement policies and procedures for compliance to ensure company wide standards are followed and to meet SOX and security compliance
- Provide management with regular communication on the progress of projects and other initiatives
- Responsible for recommending staffing plans and skill sets on a per project basis
- Responsible for the management of staffing
- Facilitate a departmental culture that encourages ownership of departmental goals and a positive service culture
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years demonstrated application development management experience in an ERP environment
- Knowledge of supply chain principles and ERP systems
- Strong technical knowledge of IBM i (AS/400), RPG, RPGIV/LE, CLP, SQL and DB2/400
- Excellent knowledge of IBM i architecture including configuration and performance tuning
- Extensive integration experience using APIs / web services and ODBC / JDBC connections to an IBM i
- Results-oriented professional who is a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Power Point, Vision, Project, Teams
- Demonstrated success of establishing, managing and maintaining effective working relationships at the management level, internal and external to an organization
- Strong leadership, teaching and mentoring skills
- Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, requests and support tasks effectively and efficiently
- Experience with ERP Software, Datawarehousing / ETL processing a definite plus
- Knowledge of Aldon, Robot, MuleSoft, JSON, XML, HTML, ASP.net, iCluster, Apache, Jira a plus
