They would align the network priorities to the network architect, be responsible for mitigating exceptions to the network architecture and be accountable for leading network projects through their entire lifecycle.
- Network Design: responsible for designing the company's network infrastructure to meet the specific needs of the organizations and their network architecture. This includes determining network topology, selecting appropriate hardware and software components, and planning for scalability and resilience.
- Network Implementation: Once the network design is finalized, this role is responsible for implementing the network infrastructure according to the design specifications. This involves configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices, as well as deploying network services such as VPNs, VLANs, and QoS.
- Network Security: Ensuring the security of the company's network infrastructure is paramount. The engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs) to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
