As a Clinical Informaticist / Nursing Informatics Specialist at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, you'll work on a small cohesive team and play a vital role in bridging clinical and IT. Our goal is to help the clinical team implement technology to care for their patients in best possible way to promote the best patient outcomes. Our facility will be converting to Cerner EHR in 2024. The NIS will be teaching and supporting all new nurses with EHR orientation and ongoing support.
The Nursing Informatics Specialist (NIS) is a registered nurse who performs the integration of nursing science, computer science and information science within a role and activities to support the delivery of care and practice of nursing through the communication, dissemination, integration, accessing, utilizing, processing, and analyzing clinical information and their related applications and systems. The NIS practices nursing demonstrating the use of the nursing process through the activities of consultation; teaching; problem-solving; computer and clinical information applications and system planning, design, testing, implementation and evaluation. Must have 3-5 years of experience. AK RN license required.
Requirements:
- RN in Alaska or eligible to obtain Alaska RN License.
- At least 3 years of Nursing Informatics Technology experience.
- Bedside experience preferred.
- Flexibility in the application of technology in Clinical Setting.
