The Maintenance Electrician for our Metairie, LA location is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within an industrial work environment, troubleshooting/diagnosing PLC's, schematics, electrical problems, performing preventative maintenance, general maintenance (as needed), and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within an industrial setting, including motors, VFD's, transformers, generators, and lighting systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment and hand tools as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general maintenance(as needed) on electrical and mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems and equipment Working with 480v, 220v and 110v 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes, and maintain accurate records of work performed
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to identify and address electrical issues that may impact production or safety
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest electrical technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

 

What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors Company?

  • HS Diploma, GED or higher education preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience and/or combination experience and/or education preferred
  • Experience with 480v, 220v, 110v and three phase
  • Works safely and familiar with lock out tag out procedures.
  • PLC and schematics experience through education and/or professional experience
  • Work well in a team
  • Communicate well with all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, climb and lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat & cold)
