Summary:
Nursing services include the evaluation of consumers' medical nursing needs. The coordination of medical services with consumers, the provision of emergency intervention and consultation with consumers and families regarding client's health care needs. Coordinates health needs related to mental health with issues and physical health issues. The position is hybrid. The nurse either meets the consumers at a nursing home, hospital or community setting to evaluate the consumer.
Requirements and Duties:
- Provides educational and instructional information regarding consumer's health status and prescribed medications regime coordinates health services for consumers and participates in Personal Care Plan.
- Oversees documentation of prescribed medications ensuring accuracy
- Ensures that differential effects of medication on its respected targeted symptoms are addressed in medication reviews.
- Provides consumers, and/or providers with purpose and potential side effects of prescribed medication.
- Completes comprehensive nursing assessments/treatments as assigned in compliance with NSO policy.
Prepares clear nursing/health care plans and goals.
- Assesses clients for Medical waivers and other ancillary services, and coordinates with the submission of the requests as needed
- Provides direct clinical services to patients within standard of good nursing practices and within unit standards
- Seeks supervisor consultation when appropriate action is unclear or beyond routine nursing functions
- Is knowable about patient rights and serves as an advocate as needed
- Completes various administrative forms to assure accurate data collections
- Reviews charts regularly to ensure paperwork compliance
Qualifications Must be able to:
- Valid State of Michigan RN license
- 2 years nursing experience
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience working remotely and proficient with software/tools related to remote work.
- Experience working with data in all forms including electronic formats and databases.
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
