Warehouse Supervisor

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for our South Brunswick Distribution Center located at (308 Herrod Blvd, Dayton, NJ 08810) to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day orders tracking and warehouse shipping activities. Ensuring the smooth and timely shipping movements of all customer orders, will implement production, productivity, quality, customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. On daily basics the Warehouse Supervisor check with others Supervisor with in the same Department for a handoff that needs to be completed by purchase orders, responsibilities will include coordinating with carriers, managing corrugating/different tapes inventory related to shipping and maintaining compliance with shipping regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Training, and supervising employees to the shipping department
  • Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
  • Managing the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Proven work experience as a shipping supervisor
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of warehouse software AS400, PKMS MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analysis data
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bi-lingual- Able to speak and understand (Spanish) is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to work extended days / Hours and weekends as business needs require
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing people
  • Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse management role.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipping documentation.

Responsibilities but not limited to include

  • Support the Shipping Manager in coordinating shipping / Routings activities.
  • Organize and maintain corrugated / tapes inventory
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain a daily log of orders sorted, picked and scanned by Purchase orders and Manifest following special customer requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, shipping inventory and related documentation
  • Respond to all E-Mails and calls quickly an in a professional manner
  • Help prepare all shipping documents, such as Purchase orders, Manifests, packing lists and all customs paperwork related.
  • Supervise / Determine staffing levels, assign workload and train shipping department personnel
  • Conduct Monthly safety meeting with employees
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance
  • Able to work as a team player and coordinate activities within other departments
  • Ability to adapt to changes and multitasking
  • Fulfill facility monthly and quarterly goals
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and best practices
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in shipments or logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of shipping processes and cost-efficiency.
