Under the direction of the Central Triage Manager, and in collaboration with the Primary Central Nurse Triage trainer, the CNT Training Assistant will act as a resource to all new hires during their first 90 days of employment. This role will work closely with the primary trainer and will be responsible for monitoring training, facilitating training simulations, and conducting training assessments. This role will also act as a mentor and informational resource for onsite and remote staff through in-person, Microsoft teams, email and phone communication as needed. On site availability is required as training needs arise.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the essential duties of a Phone Triage Nurse (50%)
Performs and delegates a variety of tasks to facilitate a distinct patient care experience
Enters all pertinent patient communications in the patient's medical record in an accurate and timely manner
Maintains confidentiality of all information as stipulated by HIPAA regulations and the DMG confidentiality policy
Functions in the role of patient advocate by being the initial contact for patient-related issues
Participates actively in meetings and department initiatives, contributing ideas for improvements and efficiencies when applicable
Communicates with appropriate management staff to ensure identified problems are resolved both competently and confidently
Provides training and acts as a primary resource for new nursing staff during their training and orientation period (30%)
Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and training
Available to clinical and non-clinical staff to answer questions and provide aid, as appropriate
Works in collaboration with department trainer to prepare new phone triage nursing staff to transition to a remote work environment
Works in collaboration with management and training staff to ensure adequate on-site coverage for all training needs
Demonstrates an understanding of departmental goals and company values through everyday attitude and behavior
Researches and resolves issues independently, where able, and responds to inquiries promptly
Monitors and ensures adherence to departmental protocols and workflows
Participates in ongoing Staff Development and Assessments (20%)
Responsible for assisting the department trainer with skill verification, material development, and updating documents as directed
Complete competency assessment of agent performance at 90 days and post coaching/post simulation sessions. Provide applicable supervisor with written assessment of agent performance

- CPR Certification

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
Years of Experience
- Two years of nursing experience (minimum)
- Nursing in outpatient primary care setting (preferred)
- Previous training experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
