Job Description Position Summary: The Human Resource Specialist will assist with labor relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, processing, and maintaining documents and records required for contract and policy development, investigations, and employee support. Job Duties/Responsibilities: · Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility. · Address routine labor relations and HR inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and agreements, escalating complex issues to appropriate management. · Act as initial point of contact for employee complaints, facilitating intake and assessment. · Conduct initial interviews and gather information for employee relations matters, such as harassment allegations or complaints, escalating as needed. · Assist with recordkeeping and workflow related to hiring, onboarding, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion. · Conduct surveys, interviews, and research on HR policies, benefits, and labor negotiations, reporting findings to HR Manager. · Stay updated on laws and regulations concerning EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and HR. · Assist in preparing HR plans, policies, documents, and reports, including EEO-1 reports, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks. · Manage workers' compensation and unemployment claims administration, representing the company as needed in hearings. · Support benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, life, supplemental benefits, COBRA, and FMLA. · Process I-9 documentation, employee W2s, and W4s. · Perform transactions in HRIS system, including terminations, leave, and job changes. · Maintain complete and accurate employee personnel files. · Coordinate pre-employment details for candidates and manage correspondence, including benefits information and orientation links. · Assist hiring managers by providing necessary materials for onboarding. · Process employee bonuses, annual increases, and performance evaluations. *Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience:A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, Accounting, or a related field is highly desired (yet not required). At least three years of professional human resource administration required with experience in employee relations preferred.·SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related Program Software. Physical Requirements: *Please note that all physical requirements listed may not be required at the site; refer to site specific demands· Walking on an on-going basis.· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.· Verbally communicating with others on an on-going basis.· Listening to others on an on-going basis.· Reach and grip with hands frequently.· Use of motor skills for typing and utilizing computer and phone frequently.· Stoop, kneel, crouch on occasion.· Peripheral vision on an on-going basis.· Ability to carry 15 pounds. Environmental Requirements: Works with others on an on-going basisOffice environment on an on-going basis Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:Ability to write narratives in grammatically correct sentences in English.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory record.Maintains vehicle insurance.Proficient at using a variety of technology (hardware and software).Ability to work independently.Ability to work with employees and other professionals at various levels.Excellent time management skills.
