Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to support analysis and development of data systems and tools for a new research project supporting our Thermal Preprocessing group. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. This project is designed to accelerate the sustainable mobilization of purpose-grown energy crops to create clean fuels and products. This will be accomplished by by generating modeling tools, data, and guidelines that support feedstock supply chain development. The ideal candidate will have a background in Agricultural and/or Environmental Engineering or other relevant field with some experience in data and/or computer science, geospatial analysis, crop management or soil, air and/or water quality assessments. This researcher will work with a multidisciplinary team using a wide range of modeling tools and approaches spanning from production through market development and commoditization. Responsibilities Include: Will work independently while operating within a larger team to achieve specific project targets. Maintains knowledge of relevant scientific literature and participate in preparing reports, peer-reviewed publications and proposals. Represents the laboratory though program reviews and technical presentations at conferences. Meets ES&H goals, and demonstrates a strong commitment to safe laboratory practices, and performs all work in an environmentally safe and compliant manner. Qualifications:Minimum Requirements: PhD in Agricultural or Environmental engineering or related disciplines must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years. Prior experience in data and/or computer science, geospatial analysis, crop management or soil, air and/or water quality assessments. Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English).
