Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Defense Nuclear Energy Applications Lead to work in our Special Reactor Concepts department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule remotely with every other Friday off. The Department of Energy's (DOE), Idaho National Lab (INL), is looking for a dynamic, innovative leader, with a strong background in Facilities Engineering, program or project management experience in DoD Prime Power, Civil, and Construction Engineering activities. You will provide oversight and technical guidance for DoD and DOE nuclear reactor construction projects including developing requirements, writing scopes of work, and performing program management. Additionally, you will develop business growth in DoD nuclear energy projects using your DoD contacts. The Defense Nuclear Energy Applications Lead will be the director for requirements development and translating existing policy, developing conceptual DoD policy ideas to create strategic direction, into actionable programs, projects, and designs which includes work plan, resource, and budget management oversight. Communicate and interact with subject matter experts in the engineering field in academic, non-profit, industry and government sectors is essential to successful performance. Responsibilities Include: You will provide the following leadership for DoD nuclear energy programs at INL: Manage a multi-complex portfolio with multiple functional programs, which includes engineering programs, program planning, budgeting, reporting, and implementing DoD . Oversee development of DoD nuclear energy programs that support INLs mission. Lead for advancing the DoD and DOE microreactor construction engineering and relating planning tasks. Advisor to INL management on programmatic issues relating to DoD nuclear reactor construction and energy specific applications. Interacts with nuclear reactor customers to analyze and support construction projects. Provide management of DoD programmatic specific tasks to support staff and team development; ensure compliance with DoD, DOE, and INL policy. Qualifications:Minimum Requirements: PR0400 - BS and 15 years. Experience leading DoD construction activities This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
