The Role: RN Professional Development Practitioner for Home Care & Hospice

The RN Professional Development Practitioner in Home Care & Hospice is multifaceted, involving a combination of services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of staff. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that the nursing staff is well-equipped to provide high-quality care to patients in their homes.

Position Highlights:

  • This position is a 40-hour-per-week day position

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborates with the entire interdisciplinary team to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
  • Designs, delivers and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
  • Creates a supportive environment for nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities. Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.

What You Need:

  • Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Home Health and Hospice.
  • Familiar with the Outcome and Assessment Information set (OASIS).
  • Strong knowledge of Home Care regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere and capability to multi-task.
