We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs.  This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.  Position Summary: The Director of Labor & Employee Relations is accountable for supporting Human Resources and Operations Leaders in the areas of Labor and Employee Relations. This role will provide broad expertise in strategic, collaborative, and consultative services on implementing our positive workforce strategy. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Assisting in the development and implementation of business units’ positive workforce strategyAnalysis of predictive analytics to help locations assess cultural riskSupporting the Company’s preemptive labor relations efforts, including managing a union organizing campaignDeveloping and providing the business units with employee relations trainingProviding the business units with employee relations trainingWorking with many different levels in the organization provide guidance and support on employee relations mattersOther projects or duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience: Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field10 years of HR or labor relations experienceAt least 6 years’ experience managing labor relations/employee relations for multiple businesses or locationsExperience in develping a proactive strategy to mitigate union risk up to and including managing union organizing campaigns Experience in manufacturing or transportation industryAbility to think logically and understand legal conceptsStrong, concise writing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects concurrentlySkilled at analyzing data to see fact patterns and using the information to formulate a strategyWorking knowledge of US labor laws and experience in providing guidance in adherence to these lawsProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Power Point, Word, Excel)Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to develop relationships with front line and management level employees Travel required 30-50% of the time, sometimes with short noticeThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug test Preferred Skills and Experience: Management skills obtained in working in Compliance, Human Resources, Legal or FinanceBilingual Spanish speaking / writing a plusLabor relations degree or certification Physical Demands and Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
