This position is responsible for leading our company’s new business development efforts by developing and implementing strategies to respond to Requests for Proposal (“RFPs”) for the company’s services and assisting the sales and operations teams in closing new business. This role also entails developing and managing an internal database of responses to standard RFP questions, along with incorporating current and relevant white papers, case studies and other collateral developed by marketing. Ability to leverage and customize as necessary RFP response templates developed by marketing that represent the brand and differentiate us from competitors. It demands a high degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, as well as collaboration across functions to identify, gather and/or ideate the need for new ways to describe our capabilities in emerging areas.
Competency in project management is a huge advantage.
Responsibilities
Under General Supervision, and in accordance with all applicable state and local laws/regulations and American Customer Care policies, procedures and guidelines, this position has the following responsibilities:
- Read and gather requirements for RFPs received from potential clients.
- Plan and coordinate RFP response kickoff meetings to determine company’s interest.
- Develop list of questions in response to RFP.
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s RFP responses.
- Developing strategies to help streamline the RFP response process by leveraging standard response templates and formats, identifying and filling in any ‘holes” in our response process with whatever collateral or answers are needed.
- Work directly with our operations, marketing, IT, finance and sales teams* to coordinate and project manage the company’s response to RFPs to ensure a timely response to clients’ requests.
- Participate in meetings with potential clients during the RFP process to help learn the potential clients’ needs, pain points, and opportunities.
- Help close business with the sales team when needed, by participating in conference calls, gathering client requirements, and providing follow-up proposals to client.
- Maintaining the sales’ team’s access to sales and marketing tools developed (and identifying those that might be needed) to build brand awareness and positioning in the RFP process – e.g. collateral, sales decks, case studies, white papers, etc.
- Assist in researching demand for our products and services and staying current with industry trends and consumer behavior.
- Competitor research. Collaboration with marketing to develop positioning that stands up against competitors.
- Assist in identifying potential customers when not engaged in an RFP.
- Tracks the origin of each opportunity, number of opportunities per year, event, engagement, along with the win/loss rate and important (true) factors that contributed to each objectively. Review and leverage results to inform prospecting strategy in collaboration with marketing.
- Other sales-related duties that may be assigned from time-to-time.
Minimum Qualifications
A.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, or communications.

Required Experience
Proven experience in a position responsible for business development, sales, or marketing and responding to Requests for Proposal – preferably in the contact center space.
