Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our team in the Construction Industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the financial health of our organization by managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our operations. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Accounts Reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong understanding of the accounting principles and a knack for numbers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance to GAAP.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
- Assist with financial and tax audits, and document and monitor internal controls.
- Collaborate with the finance team on forecasts and budgets, providing necessary financial information.
- Use Oracle Fusion to maintain the integrity of the accounting system, ensuring it remains functional and up to date.
- Support overflow work from Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to procedures and processes.
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA Eligible is preferred
- 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Oracle Fusion and other accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on MS Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
- Professional manner and strong ethical code. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
