Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for teaching nursing students in live class, hybrid, online and clinical environments, advising nursing students, serving on School of Nursing (SON) and university committees while maintaining current practices.
Responsibilities:
Teaching
- Teach 24 load contact hours over fall and spring semesters.
- Evaluate student performance.
Advising
- Meet with advisees as defined in the policy and procedure.
- Upon approval, grant advisees' registration clearance
Service
- Serve on SON and university committees.
- Provide service to the community.
Scholarship
- The SON defines scholarship as keeping current with nursing practice, original research, and other scholarly activities such as publications, presentations, and participation in professional nursing organizations.
Maintain Current Practice
- Maintain knowledge of current practice, curriculum development, and certification for the program/track in which they teach.
- Maintain CPR/BLS certification.
- Various duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Doctoral degree required, PhD in nursing or DNP preferred, Florida RN License (or eligible), CPR/BLS certification with 2-3 years of full-time teaching experience in a nursing program.
