Great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work for a US manufacturing leader in packaging and bottling solutions across food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and automotive industries.
This Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day project leadership on the production floor, leading the implementation of new equipment/automation, troubleshooting equipment failure, mechanical design, and guiding continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Support Manufacturing Operations with continuous improvement and process optimization programs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to production technicians, operators and other production personnel.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for existing systems.
- Assist with process control, process development training, and related documentation
- Third party vendor management.
- Manage library of purchased and designed components.
- Pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical component selection and cross references.
- Create CAD drawings for CNC machining and fabrication, BOM and assembly prints.
- Design and develop tooling by working with theoretical plastic parts and drawings with contingency plans for hot molded ‘real’ parts.
- Execute equipment qualification/validation/training/debug/hand-off to production counterparts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience working within a manufacturing engineering environment
