This is a full-time appointment nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Nutrition & Dietetics Program with rank dependent on the individual's qualifications. Responsibilities of the position include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising and mentoring students, and fulfilling the expectations of research and service commensurate with rank.

The Nutrition & Dietetics programs include an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in

Dietetics (DPD) undergraduate program, a Master of Science program, and a post-baccalaureate dietetic internship. Our program faculty work collaboratively with other disciplines across the campus to provide an excellent learning experience for students. We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate from an accredited university in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana and be a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Advanced degrees must have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Nutrition courses.
  • Five years of demonstrated professional practice experience and well-rounded in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics discipline.
  • Evidence of research competence.
  • Excellent communication skills, willing to forge relationships with community partners.
  • Competent in using various methods of information technology.
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Be able to develop a research program in their area of interest with extramural funding.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
  • Demonstrated management/leadership experience.
