Summary:
At Ashtabula County Medical Center, our nurses provide general and specialized direct/indirect patient care through the application of sound Nursing Practice procedures to all patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit. The nurse demonstrates competency in the behavioral, growth and development, and psychosocial needs of the population served. Together, our MD's, RN's, LPN's, and PCNA's work together to provide a team approach to patient care.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Completion of a recognized course of study from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
- One year related to nursing experience preferred.
- Required Licensure or Certification:
- Must be currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS recommended for all; required within the first 6 months of employment for ICU, ED, PACU, Radiology, and Pain Management and required within first year for all Med-Surg nurses.
- PALS required for 4 North, ED, and PACU.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
