Position Summary:

The Lead Electrical Engineer manages electrical engineering activities within the organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, performing calculations and details for installing electrical systems. Responsible for reviewing and approving new or revised designs, or installation procedures. Ensures engineering projects are properly staffed and milestones are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Electrical Engineers have duties and responsibilities that focus on safety, sustainable design and quality assurance. They design, develop electrical systems documents. Electrical Engineers provide support for electrical work in the manufacturing, and construction industries. Their duties and responsibilities include:

Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle related to electrical deliverables.

Work directly and effectively with project lead engineers and other MEP disciplines to design electrical systems for Biotech and Pharmaceutical clients.

Understand switchgear design, low, medium, and high voltage, single line diagrams, line, etc.

Develop technical specifications and layouts while working in tandem with project managers and engineers across multiple disciplines.

Identify deliverables, define requirements, create detailed design drawings and plans for electrical systems.

Develop electrical layout including the size of electrical equipment on floor plans.

Ensure all electrical projects adhere to DPS quality standards.

Interact and present to contractors, clients and internal team.

Provides guidance and professional development to team of engineers.

Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.

Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Write speeches and articles using innovative techniques. Make persuasive presentations on complex topics to management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Ability:

Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Software Skills: Microsoft Office including a proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Navisworks.

Certificates and Licenses: Must be a licensed Professional Engineer

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the work of other Electrical Engineers and Designers on a project basis.
