Overview

VTG is seeking an Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Electronic Technician in Charleston, South Carolina.

What will you do?

Summary Comprehensive technical knowledge building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and electrical or electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical resource for Electronic Security System installation activities. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with senior level technicians and draws routine sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic equipment.
  • Install multiple types of cabling to include: Cat5/6, low voltage, and fiber optic. .
  • Recommends changes for electronic equipment installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devices test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
  • May write technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.

Education and/or Experience

HS or equivalent plus four years of work-related experience and/or training; or AS plus two years of related experience or BS in electronics. Understanding of electricity and electronics required.

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of MS Office applications and PDF editing software. Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver's license, industry related certifications (Lenel, Software House, AMAG. Etc.)

Other Qualifications

Must be able to travel as required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
