Manufacturing Engineer

Product scope:

  • Products Supported: All Diode, Control Components, and Stripline.

  • General Package Types Supported: Ceramic (Stripline, pill package), Glass, Plastic (SOT, MLP,etc.), Beam Leads, Bondable Die, & Axial Leaded, Surmount, Flipchip & Discrete Die.

Activities May Include:

  • Interfacing with Product Engineering on product extension releases.

  • Factory Layout: Developing factory layout for optimization of process flow and interface with necessary facility groups to install utilities/services.

  • Reviewing Manufacturing Process Routers for correctness and efficiency.

  • Equipment/Tools: Research, Recommend, Selection & Qualification of New Manufacturing Tools.

  • Improve Throughput/Yield by Process Audit and Process Automation.

  • Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.

  • Product Documentation: Creating Assembly Process/Training Instructions, Generation of Process

Routers, Work Center Creation and Maintenance.

  • Working with other Manufacturing Engineering staff to develop/support corporation goals.

  • Supporting process engineering change notice (CO) and related Material Review Board (MRB) activities, as required.

  • Projects: Involved in miscellaneous projects as required.

  • Process Audit & Automation: Audit a given process on the manufacturing floor and determine the initial cycle time. Design an automated approach to improve the cycle.

  • Working with Planning/Product Engineering on cost reduction activities.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering.

  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem solving.

  • Proven track record of solving technical problems, project ownership, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.

  • Display a strong sense of drive and dedication to continuous improvement.

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to take on aggressive goals and a commitment to achieve them.

  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve processes.

  • High energy, self-motivated, positive attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds and at every level of the organization.

  • Excellent written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and findings, writing process and equipment specifications and work instructions.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Experience with ISO9001, AS9100, Mil-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534.
