The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and will be responsible for assisting in recruitment, maintaining roster size, practice planning, match scheduling, and budget management of Keiser University's sports program.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach will:
- Assist in the planning, organization and the on-going development of the athletic programming and activities of the program.
- Assist in the building of a cohesive and competitive program.
- Recruit academically and athletically qualified, full-time student-athletes to participate in the program.
- Promote the academic progress and graduation of student-athletes.
- Oversight and care of the Keiser University horses, including record keeping, veterinary and farrier appointments, etc.
Daily organization of facility needs.
Supervise barn staff and students.
Responsible for assisting in the coordination and supervision of team practices and competitions.
Must have a flexible work schedule and available for work on weekends/evenings when necessary
Must be able to travel during show season and for recruitment opportunities.
- Abide by the rules and regulations of Intercollegiate Horse Show Association and have knowledge of the regulations.
Expectations: We expect the Assistant Coach to:
- Report any known violations or concerns to administration
- Represent Keiser University as a team player, as a professional, and as a role model for all student-athletes.
- Possess a valid CPR Certification
- Possess a valid State of Florida Driver's License and be responsible for driving Keiser University vehicles and/or rental vehicles when assigned for away competitions.
Qualifications: We expect the Assistant Coach to:
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
- Have 1-3 years of advanced coaching experience. College coaching experience preferred.
- Have strong service-oriented skills and the ability to have an exceptional customer service attitude.
This is a full time position that requires, day, evening and weekend availability.
