The research technician will be responsible for developing a Raman arthroscopy platform to diagnose the degenerative changes in articular cartilage with osteoarthritis progression.

Work will consist of instrumentation development and the performance of Raman arthroscopy measurements in a series of ex vivo and in vivo model systems to assess the diagnostic capability of the platform.

Ideal candidates should have experience and expertise in at least some of the following areas:- Raman spectroscopy (or related optics discipline)- Orthopaedic tissue analytics-mechanical/biochemical tissue characterizations- Ex vivo live tissue culture models- Engineering design work (e.g., probe design, bioreactor design)- Programming background-development of graphical user interfaces

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1-3 Years Experience

This is a 1-year grant-funded position.
