"Job Corps provides a valuable training program for Phlebotomy Technicians, but the pay scale is relatively low compared to industry standards. However, the program provides opportunities for growth and development."

"I loved working for Job Corps. It was rewarding every day to see young people finish what they started, school and began their career through vocational certifications."

"Management is out of touch with what is happening and the instructors are ask to do everyone's job. I would never tell someone to apply."

"Rewarding place to work to make a difference in the lives of young people, good co-worker collaboration, very poor management relationships. No opportunity for advancement unless you are part of the in-crowd. Very little management support in day to day classroom issues."

"Bad things happen at this center. The educators don't care if you learn as long as you sit down and shut up. The students will steal from you in a heart beat and have no problem trying to destroy you as a person. There's more gang association there than I ever saw. The food is bad, dorms are cold, rules are strict for the white girls only it seems. You're the minority and no one will listen or help you, there's drugs everywhere. I was harassed daily and nothing was done to stop it. I hated it."

"I've worked at Gary for 3.5 years and I have not ever work for a more dysfunctional company than Gary Job Corps. The management don't support you. They expect you to move mountains but don't give you the tools or supplies to do so. If you are not a pretty lady or if you do not look good in a skirt or if you are not a behind kisser, you will not make it to management. A lot of management do not have degrees so they have issues with employees that do."
