"Giant Eagle is a Pittsburgh, PA-based company. They paid only $10/hour, but offered a full-time (5 nights, 8-hour shifts) position, health care benefits along with employee discount programs and my supervisor would treat the night crew with free drinks and snacks. I only left because the work schedule conflicted with my school schedule.
Meijers is a Michigan-based company. They paid only $11.15/hour and were union. It was part-time and the union dues meant that I ended up making less money than I did at Giant Eagle. I only worked here, because it was closer to my house. Their logistics is ridiculous and my supervisor scheduled me on days that conflicted with my school schedule.
Blaze Pizza is a fast-food restaurant. They paid $10-11/hour. They had the best food safety and sanitation training, even though it was in a handbook that you had to read. My supervisor and coworkers worked hard and cleaned hard. It was fun and time flew by. The walk-in cooler, kitchen, and entire restaurant was clean compared to Jewel Osco stores. I would consider working for Blaze Pizza again."

"The salary is very low for all the hours you have to put in. If you are hourly you have to work 6 days a week the whole year to make about 60k. Which is not even worth the headache because it’s ALL physical work. If you are a assistant store manager you start at around 57k and that’s horrible pay where you will work 50 hours a week if not more so it doesn’t add up."
