"organizational restructuring has spawned early retirement, layoffs, and resignations. Too many people out the door too quickly. The ones left behind are getting overloaded."

"I think JCpenney is a good company and love working their but the only problem was that they don't give you a lot off hours."

"the employers expect too much from the associates. customers are sometimes difficult to deal with."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would schedule more employees to work at the same department. i'm always there by myself for the whole day. I wouldn't delegate so many responsibilities to one associate. i'm in charge of customer service, ringing up customers, cleaning the floor, folding the tables, in charge of the fitting room, and in charge of counting the money every night."

"Not be so secretive about everything. I understand certain things being on a need-to-know basis, but withholding information can also make it harder to get the job done. Also, for certain projects, give more direction. Don't just expect people to figure it out, and then not like the result of them doing what they were able to with limited information and resources."

"Smile! This position takes lots of work, and management expects you to work long hours and spend most of your day on the floor motivating associates and driving sales. Every display should tell a story, and this will help you drive sales. Always remember that happy associates will equal happy customers."

"The demands are unrealistic considering you are expected to move mountains with very limited, if not non-existent resources. Unappreciation is common."

"Sometimes I feel like why bother to do what I do, because one manager or another will redo it, and not explain why. Way over micro-managed."
