"The leadership of this studio is extremely stuck in their own politics. There is no clear vision from the CEO who seems like a nice guy but is really mercenary when you look closer. There are a ton of things you can learn how to do the wrong way here. Tech, design, product management, marketing, people leadership, and culture. Jagex is simply terrible at all of these things. I don’t think they set out to be but many years of hiring friends into roles. Bad leadership and really really ancient tech have taken their toll. Last but certainly not least the games themselves RS OSRS have no innovation and are in steady decline. The game teams are hammered for more revenue with fewer people on titles they can’t really change."
"I worked for Jagex for 3 years, they originally funded our start-up studio tinyGiant games. After finishing that project they pulled our team over to work on Transformers Universe. I was lucky enough to get to travel to their headquarters in Cambridge UK and spend three months working in another country. While I enjoyed my time there the management did not really seem to have a clear vision for the game we were working on."
