What do you like about working at Intuit?

"The atmosphere is very friendly and open with all employees. I like that the dress code is casual and that I can be myself in the office in this regard. I also appreciate the flexibility of the schedules that they allow and that I am able to work from home when I want to. They really accommodate the ability to manage work/life balance."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"For my department, there is not a clear line to how to get from one role to another, and there is not typically roles open for growth or the opportunity to even become full time, even after 3 years as a contractor. I would be leery about joining my department for this reason, though most other groups do not have this issue."

What don't you like about working at Intuit?

"I feel that my work is not directly connected to the growth or development of either the company or my own career for that matter. I am somewhat ignored as long as there are no red flags that go off regarding my work. No goals are set, especially since I am a contractor, and this means that I really just have to get by with doing the minimal amount of work in order to stick around. I wish I felt like what I do matters on a more granual level and that people were actually concerned with this on the whole."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would not have a mostly outsourced recruitment team. I feel that having 90% of the department charged with bringing new employees into the company as contractors is not giving the investment to the process that it deserves. Intuit prides itself on having great talent and being a great place to work, yet the people that make this happen cannot fully participate in its offerings and benefits like full employees do. Also, ensuring that employees are connected to their results and understand how to do what they do the best and how it affects the entire company's goals is very important to moving the whole organization forward."
