Interstate Brands Corporation is a food manufacturing company that filed for bankruptcy in 2004 and 2009, and was renamed Hostess Brands. The company was founded in 1930, and manufactured baked goods including Hostess, Dolly Madison and Drake's snack cakes. They also manufactured Wonder, Nature's Pride, Butternut and Home Pride breads.
The former Interstate Brands was headquartered in Irving, Texas. They ceased operations November 21, 2012 pursuant to a Federal bankruptcy court order that allowed the company to initiate wind-down of operations. The company reported it will completely cease operations within twelve months. Prior to closure, Hostess/Interstate Brands operated 33 bakeries, 5,500 distribution routes, and 565 distribution centers. They also operated 570 corporate outlet stores.
